Edwin Garrett Players Awards Night 2013

Date of Article: 27 April 2013

At a sometimes emotional awards night last night the following awards were made:

Gala A 'Golden Hammer' to Scot Chapman

Gala A 'Golden Scissor Hands' to Fraser Welsh

Gala A player of the season to Ben Murray

Young player of the year to Chris Auld

Most improved player to Craig Keddie

Players’ player to Gary Graham

And the main award of the evening was presented by Garrett family members to the 2012/13 player of the season, Gary Graham.

Player of the season is taken from the 5 votes cast each game for man of the match, which this year resulted in 155 votes.

George Graham announced that Harry Keddie is stepping down as 1XV team manager and that Peter Dods is taking on that role from next season.

We also officially bid farewell to both Lee Millar and Bryce Turner and they were presented with signed and framed shirts (good luck getting that home Bryce!). Both will however continue to appear in the 7s circuit for us. These players have served the Club very well in their time with us and it has been a pleasure to have them here. The Club wishes them both all the very best for the future.

OP was in good form and concluded his part with a big thank you to the supporters.
