COVID-19

OUR RESPONSE

Covid-19 Response at Gala Rugby

Gala Rugby is working hard behind the scenes to adapt and respond to the on-going global Covid-19 pandemic. We are constantly working internally to ensure we adapt as best we can, as well as getting back to normal as soon as possible whilst making the current situation as functional as can be.

We are liaising with Scottish Rugby, and following their protocols as instructed.

Due to Scottish Government advice, our Youth and Senior teams have recommenced training at very different speeds, following the

Scottish Rugby 'Return to Rugby' roadmap, and other Covid-19 guidance.

Currently, our Youth teams have been back training since mid-June with our Senior teams back since late-July.

Only now (late-August) can our Senior teams begin to play touch rugby again, after training in 'bubbles; of 5 players for the previous weeks.

Our clubrooms have been adapted to allow for 1m+ social-distancing at all times, as well as welcoming as few people into Netherdale as possible.

Please note that our office remains closed to the public, and we ask you to contact us here.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO BEING A COVID-19 SAFE PLACE

Gala Rugby is committed to helping create a Safer Scotland, by playing its part to help eradicate Covid-19.

Please do not come to Netherdale if you have developed any Covid-19 symptoms (however mild) in the last 7 days, stay at home, self-isolate, and arrange to be tested as soon as possible.

Do not go to your GP, pharmacy, or hospital. You should remain at home until you get the result of the test, and then follow the guidance given based on the result of your test.

Sounds harsh? Unfortunately, just now it has to be. We understand that these are uncertain times for everyone. If you feel like your mental health is worsening, or you're experiencing low mood, anxiety, or depression then you are not alone. Breathing Space offer a free, confidential phone service and online information for anyone in Scotland. It's operated by NHS-24 and be contacted on 0800 838 587 or www.breathingspace.scot.

Together we will get through this, and we hope to be able to invite you all back to Netherdale as soon as safely possible. Until then, please check-up on our Covid-19 page for the latest guidance and how it affects Gala Rugby specifically.

Our COVID-19 Coordinator is DOUGLAS TAYLOR.

WHAT CAN OUR TEAMS CURRENTLY DO?

Like we mentioned earlier, our teams are all currently returning to rugby at different speeds and at different stages in relation to the Scottish Rugby 'Return to Rugby' roadmap.
