After two successful years of the Maroond@Gala format, we are delighted that Maroon'd returns for 2023 and is here to stay on the Gala Rugby calendar.
Join us here at Netherdale this August for the 3rd Annual 'Maroon'd@Gala' festival, showcasing the very best in Borders Rugby from P3 right
through to Senior Rugby.
In the morning our Mini Maroons tournament is at centre stage, taking over the entirity of Netherdale, before handing over the baton to Semi-Junior and Senior rugby in the afternoon. The rugby is complimented by live music, street food vendors and five different bars open all day.
Throughout the day we will have some of the very best musical acts the Scottish Borders has to offer.
Some of the performers are returning to the Borders School of Music Maroon'd Mainstage,
and we have some new additions for 2023.
Maroon'd is more than a rugby festival. We aim to get the community together to enjoy a taste of exactly
what the Scottish Borders communities can offer. At the fore-front of our day is our Senior Rugby tournament,
which is part of the 2023/24 Kings of the 7s Series!
We also have our Mini's (P3 - P7), Semi-Junior (U16 & U18) and Girls Rugby tournaments.
These run throughout the day with rugby related activities running from 9am, right through to 7:30pm
where the event culminates with our Senior 7s FINAL!

At Maroon'd we offer the very best of borders rugby and musical entertainment, so why should the food and drink on offer differ from this! We're delighted to have so many fantastic local food vendors with us on the day, as well as some from further afield!
We have numerous bars located around the Maroon'd@Gala venue. To make it really easy and quick for you to get served we can confirm that our cashless bars will return for the 2023 festival. Our bars will not accept money for drinks, and instead you must purchase drinks tokens from a token station (also located throughout the site) to purchase any drinks. Upon entry you will be given a colour coded wristband, this is to keep the queues to a minimum!
Maroon'd is filled with some of the very best of Borders Rugby, from tournaments for our Mini's right through to our Senior Tournament!

As we move into the afternoon its the turn of the Junior teams to take control. Our 'Gala Red Triangle Tournament' hosts the Borders U16s 7s, with our 'Gala Wanderer's Tournament' opening the floor to Borders U18s 7s. These tournaments are ran alongside our 'Vixens Tournaments' which see's Girls Rugby played from ages S1 right through to S4. The finals for these tournaments are all played on the Netherdale Main Pitch giving the younger generation a taste of the formidable main-pitch atmoshphere!
