We are very saddened to record the passing of Drew Tulley MBE, an Honorary Vice President and long time supporter of the club. Drew was a stalwart of the club, a regular visitor to Netherdale and expended a lot of his time and energy in retirement repairing and maintaining the facilities, especially painting! He was also a regular at our Friday Lunches and provided the raffle prizes for each lunch, the proceeds of which went towards club maintenance. He was instrumental in helping to progress the construction of the Hayward Pavilion in 1992.
Following his initial employment with the Fire Brigade Drew proceeded with a career in local politics ending up as Leader (Convenor) of Scottish Borders Council, a post from which he retired in 2002.
He will be sadly missed by all his friends and colleagues at Netherdale and we would like to extend our sympathy and condolences to his family and friends at this time.
